Jesus Loves You

Walking into church on Sunday Just a kid, never knowing that someday Every worry I'd find Would follow me all of my life Nervous sitting there in the classroom The teacher saw that I was brand-new I will never forget every word that she said She said- "Jesus loves you no matter who you are No matter where you go, you're not alone, He's in your heart You're a child of heaven, He's known you from the start He made you in His image and He set your life apart I pray you'll always remember how much Jesus loves you" Now I struggle to believe that I'm worthy 'Cause I'm anything but deserving all the voices of shame From the mistakes that I've made But a stranger who barely knew me Told me there was still more to my story This is not how it ends And I heard what he said When he said- "Jesus loves you no matter who you are No matter what you've done or where you've been, He holds your heart You are forgiven, He took the cross for you He died and rose again, so you could find your love made new I pray you'll always remember how much Jesus loves you How much Jesus loves you" Walking into a church on Sunday My daughter standing close beside me All the things that I felt, she feels them as well She's holding my hand so tightly At the classroom door before I leave I knelt down next to her, whispered the very same words I said- "Jesus loves you no matter who you are No matter where you go, you're not alone, He's in your heart You're a child of heaven, He's known you from the start He made you in His image and He set your life apart I pray you'll always remember, Jesus loves you Jesus loves you" I pray you'll always remember how much Jesus loves you Jesus loves you
